He started his career in electronics and transitioned into Information Technology where he began to focus in cybersecurity. Tony worked in consultancy for several years providing IT services and building environments for banking, telecoms, government, UN and EU agencies. He has been working in TU Dublin since 2007 as an IT professional where he has been involved with a number of large projects, including the migration from G-Suite to Office 365, before moving into his new role in November 2020. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his new role as IT Security officer, he has been involved in the design and implementation of MFA for all users and is currently leading the project to implement a single EDR solution across the University. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Alan holds an MSc in Computing in the area of Security and Forensics which was awarded in 2019.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TU Dublin were the victims of a ransomware attack in April 2021, which affected the Tallaght Campus. Prior to that she has been the Library Resources Manager for Procurement in Health Library Ireland, and before that spent 18 years as the systems librarian in Tu Dublin, Tallaght Campus [previously IT Tallaght]. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Niamh has presented at a previous LIR Seminar in 2014 on the topic of Open Source and Libraries and has published in the area of library web site design and implementing open source solutions for libraries. Most recently Niamh presented at the IFLA Heath and Biosciences Section satellite meeting on &#8220;The role of the institutional repository in delivering COVID-19 evidence summaries&#8221;.
