CONUL is delighted to announce details of the CONUL Conference 2018
Bursaries. This year two bursaries are available, one for each category of
applicant:

1. LIS students currently studying a LAI accredited course

2. LIS graduates who have graduated from a LAI accredited course within the

I'm writing to you in relation to the IEDR's plan to liberalise the .ie
domain from March 21st this year.

As you are aware, at present, in order to register a .ie domain you must
show both a connection to Ireland and a claim to the particular
name.After March 21st there will be no need to provide evidence of a
claim. The only requirements will be that the registrant can show a
connection to Ireland and prove their identity. [...]

digital repositories, focusing on the *CoreTrustSeal* framework. The
workshop will be presented by Dr John B Howard of University College
Dublin, a founding member of the *CoreTrustSeal* Board of Directors.

The workshop will review the concept of "trust" in the context of data
management and Open Science, identifying stakeholders and the issues that

New LAI-accredited module at UCD School of Information & Communication Studies

For any information professionals who are considering CPD options for the coming year, we are pleased to announce that our advanced module IS40480 Information Professional as Teacher, taught by Claire McGuinness, has recently been approved by the LAI as an accredited CPD course. The module will run in the School of Information & Communication Studies, UCD, from 10-12 pm every Friday from January 26th to April 27th 2018 (except March 16th, 23rd & 30th). The cost of taking this module is €400 (€200 unwaged). Certificates will be issued by the LAI for course attendance. [...]

Happy New Year. I have come across the LinkOut Local and the Outside Tool on PubMed. These tools allow you to put an openURL link to your institution's link resolver from the record in PubMed. Handy.
